DID YOU KNOW?

CAMPUS CLUB HAS SERVICE PROJECTS!

SEE THE TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO GIVE BELOW!

SERVICE PROJECT 1:

Campus Club and CC Book Club

CHILDREN’S BOOK collection

The Auburn Campus Club and CC Book Club is collecting and wil donate newunwrapped children's books for ages 5 - 14, grades K - 9.

Books will be going to the two agencies below:

1)  Our House (By Our Love), located in west Auburn, providing programs, activities, and support for students and families after school, on weekends, holidays, and summers.

Our House is celebrating their 10th year of existence and service.

A request has been made for books for 3rd - 6th graders focusing on nonfiction (learning rather than fictional stories), though both will be gladly accepted.

2)  Lee County Youth Development Center (LCYDC) offers prevention, intervention, and residential care for neglected and abused children.  Donated books will be put to "immediate and ongoing use" in an on-campus library which values hand-held bound books while emphasizing the "limitless value of getting lost in a book", noting "Today's Readers...Tomorrow's Leaders".  Consider chapter books, biographies, mysteries, sports, etc. for ages 11-17.

Collection Sites/Date information is provided below.

Thank you for your participation and generosity as Auburn Campus Club members continue to open hands and hearts to our community.

“Food Fight”

October 4 – November 21

From the East Alabama Food Bank…

“For the past thirty years, Auburn University and the University of Alabama have competed against each other to see which school could raise the most food for their local food bank in the weeks prior to the big competition on the football field. This is the biggest food drive of the year and last year an amazing total of 686,807 pounds was donated locally. This food drive has a huge impact on the Food Bank’s ability to provide food for families in need this holiday season and beyond.

The total pounds collected by both schools during this friendly competition since the drive began is the equivalent of more than 8.7 million meals or 417 tractor-trailer loads!”

Most Needed Items:

Peanut Butter, Canned Meats, Canned Vegetables and Fruits, Canned Soups and Stews, Macaroni and Cheese, Cereal, Rice and Pasta

Other ideas: Grits, Oatmeal, Canned Meats and Chili, Breakfast Bars, Graham Crackers, Saltine Crackers, Ritz Crackers, Pasta Sauce, Tomato Sauce, Canned Coffee, Hot Chocolate Packs
